The final assignment of creating a self-promotional website was something that is very necessary for students of our major to have in order to get our work out for people to see. The website will be used to promote the photographs done by the photographer, Austin Mitchell. It will be used as a link in social media profiles for people to go if more work is wanted to be seen. Making it so all of the best work is out to the public isn’t the best idea, keeping something with held on to a website where people may not go to as much can be useful because it is going to be a pleasant surprise when they look it see all this new phenomenal work they had never seen before. This is why the social media projects worked on earlier in the course are useful place for people of media production to put this link. People looking into hiring the students are now looking at social media more than ever to get a good since of what kind of person they are hiring. Having a professional social media profile and seeing where professional tweets and posts can be posted and having a link the website can lead them to seeing of how great of a candidate one might be for the position they are hiring for. As well as having the social media platforms to promote the work in a professional way. More and more people are on social media today and it is a place where people do most of their snooping on others. It just leads to more and more people looking at your work and again in this form of occupation getting the work out there is the most difficult part. The overall consensus of the project is that yes websites such as this one is super important. It can be a very useful tool when trying to promote yourself or anything really. It also isn’t for everyone, though doing code wasn’t as intensive as it could have been, just coming out of nowhere and building a website could potentially be a very daunting task. It also gave really good in site on making sure that all of the files needed for the website are in order, in the correct format, and size. Any little thing can throw a website way off and not give it the look that one wants the website to look like. So, origination is very important when preparing to create the website and taking out as many scenario of something going wrong as possible. Using Dream Weaver for the first time it was something that was difficult to use at first being as code is one of the most monotonous and time-consuming tasks to do. It could potentially become useful in the future for the need for someone to understand code could make someone stick out and rise above other employees. The customization of the website is semi-limited but the ability to change the cover photo and giving it a profile picture can definitely play into making the website more personal.
