The wikiHow project was something different, that was isn't normally thought about when thinking of social media. It was interesting seeing this platform being used in a serious matter as it is a platform that has created a lot of memes. This is one aspect of the project that brought on some difficulty while working on this. Not entirely seeing the value of the platform at first, then seeing it and then learning the specificity of tasks it can teach people how to do. While working on this it was also a good way to learn about other ways of communicating things that maybe easier on this platform then word of mouth. Though some words are used when attempting to communicate on the platform, the size of the images for the wikiHow greatly outsize the text showing the importance of the images. Which also plays a positive where people who may not be the best of readers, this is a great tool to use as a visual learner as the steps are most often shown with images. This platform allows people to give out specific details about a specific topic, such as how to move from the city to the country.

On a more cut and drier topic, not everybody knows somebody who can cook and amazing chocolate cake but with the use of wikiHow the access to learn how to do something like this is as easy as ever. Editors making it so every last detail of the step is included into the wikiHow, to cut back on confusion while carrying out the task. For the specific wikiHow of How-to movie to the city from the country the use of images and personal experiences were the backing to the examples used in order to try to express this idea. It is said in the wikiHow that this was only an experience when moving to Buffalo and may not apply to every city. It was assumed that every situation would be different and there would be a little bit of tweaking to do along the way. Also talking to some people who had lived in the same small town and moved to a city bigger than Buffalo and asked what they had to say. Some examples given were from the perspective of someone moving to New York City. It was needed that this perspective be accounted for as it is one of the biggest, most difficult, and most expensive places to live in the USA. With more people and more complications to deal with these examples were thought to have a lot of significance and necessary for the wikiHow. The wikiHow wasn’t simply about the idea of moving from one are to another. It was made with the intentions of living somewhere and feeling comfortable while doing so. Comfortability is key to good happy life style, moving can be a very stressful thing in itself. Not being able to go home and unwind because one feels uncomfortable in their own home. The steps in the wikiHow were both practical and for comfortability reason. It feels nice to know that someone who really needed help on how to deal with the transition of this magnitude and goes to wikiHow and see the article that they have a step by step guide on how to do it. Living the transition not knowing exactly what to do can be lonely and difficult but it is something that everyone has to experiences. It was felt that all aspects of the idea were covered because of the use of primary accounts of what worked and what didn’t. Two different people who had moved to two different types of cities. It was needed as the experiences for this person were much more abrupt changes compared to Buffalo but none the less were still things that were thought to be problems. Taking into account other wikis that had talked about moving from the country to the city and what they had to say there weren’t any really that talked about moving and living in the city. This was very surprising as it was assumed that there were many people out there who could have been in a very similar situation as the two people used for this wikiHow. It was more of a traveler’s guide on how to survive the city. Taking into account all of these different accounts and experiences and advice. This was the end result, how to live moving from the country to the city comfortably. The more comfortable one is where they live the better off things are going to be.
